Waiting in Lines

I was trying to post a parcel in Mysore (no mean feat to do this in India as it turned out) and there it was, this wall outside the post office. I love everything about it. The 70s concretness, its scale and the coloured shapes. It was kind of humming in the sun.

I think it could hold its own in an empty, white, contemporary space. I was also dreaming of seeing the green lattice cut out of black cold metal, blown up on a huge scale. In any case, I took it home with me and its essence has been in my head ever since.

I am waiting on the delivery of two very large canvases at the moment and I have a feeling it might find its way into the underbelly of one of them.
